Last fall I offered a new reading and art group. We read, discussed, and did an art response based on the book, Belonging by Toko-pa Turner (highly recommended!).
Participants really enjoyed the process. We gathered our weekly art response into book form – a visual connection from one book to another – expressed in colour, image, and words. Altered books is one of my favourite ways to re-purpose a book and keep it out of the landfill.
Here are some of my altered book pages and visual response to the winter book selection, Dancing with the Gods: Reflections on Life and Art by Kent Nerburn.
